Nevada - "The Silver State"

Katie: "Nevada has the world's oldest living thing (this site implies that it is in California, but according to my biology teacher last semester, while the bristlecone pine forest is in both CA and NV, the tallest tree, Methuselah, is actually in NV), and legalized prostitution."

Brendan: "Vegas, baby!"

Delsyn: "Let's not forget Nevada, home to three of my favorite things, the Hoover Dam, legalized prostitution and Las Vegas!"

As long as we're being technical, gambling is illegal in Boulder City, NV.

That said, I'm proud that, in the new millineum, I chose this as my new home state!

What is so great about Nevada?

The smell of sagebrush after a summer rain.
The blue that is unlike any other blue in our sky.
Cashing a check at 3:30 am in a casino.
The howl of a coyote.
Wild horses running full tilt up a hill because they can.
The shocking cold of alpine water in Lake Tahoe when you dive in.
Picon Punch in Yearington.
A Basque dinner in Minden.
The diamond sharp Milky Way in the Central Nevada sky.
Snow skiing and water skiing on the same warm spring day.
Friendly people.
Pine nuts in the fall.
A mother quail and 10 chicks in the garden.
