Dirty Secrets

Thanks to the ever-glorious and wondermous brandelion, you get to see my embarrassing Top 5 Guilty Pleasure Songs. Because if I didn't blog it, she'd just go blab it to the whole Internet. She's like that ya know.

Please, note that I do not actually own any of these songs! Though I believe we actually played one of them in an early stage of Revolver's development...

Shoot me now.

  1. "If" by Bread
  2. "I've Gotta Get A Message To You" by The Bee Gees
  3. "Dancing Queen" by Abba
  4. "The Kid is Hot Tonight" by Loverboy
  5. "Rainy Days and Mondays" by The Carpenters

Well... I showed you mine...

I've only heard of one of those songs, and I think that's a good thing. :)

I put a post up with mine!

Boo-yah - Mine are up...

Mine are up as well. Thanks for the idea.

Yours were real good choices. Most would not admit to the Carpenters, yet we all own one of their albums. Except for Theresa, who makes me feel real old.

Wow, I feel old, if Theresa didn't know any of 'em.

I'll have to post some.

Hey, "The Kid is Hot Tonight" is a cool song. The lyrics are even kinda deep, in context of the early new-wave sound that was just starting around that time (man I feel old). And it’s before Loverboy went completely top-40 and started singing songs about the weekend and singing songs written by Kiss.

Karen Carpenter had one helluva voice; I feel no shame in owning 3 or 4 of those albums. ;)

I remember the first time that I ever heard The Kid Is Hot Tonite, it was in a very fast vehicle owned by a reformed (we think) Teenage Menace who happens to have posted on this very subject earlier....

Yes, reformed Teenage Menace. Now a Middle Aged Menace. Middle aged manaces aren't very menacing, mostly they complain about those darn Teenage Menaces.

Oh and BTW, I like a good Carpenters song once in a while too..."Baby, baby, baby oh baby...I love youuu...", good stuff.

yes, i'm in agreement with the Linkmeister: ain't no shame in diggin' on the Carpenters.

i can't think of particular songs, but maybe bands/artists/albums i shouldn't like but kinda sorta...ok, i like them. (guilty pleasures)

1.Kid Rock
2.Third Eye Blind (self-titled album)
3.Barbra Streisand (ohmymaud! i just admitted that in public!!!)
4.Air Supply
5.Dolly Parton

(i SO love Dolly Parton!)

If you don't see a way to enter a comment, it's not because I don't love you. It's because they have been set to auto-close after 5 days.

Thank you, comment spammers. Thank you to hell.
