Ring of Fire

Fire destroys longtime Johnny Cash home

I know that it's just a coincidence, but I can't help thinking that this is what Johnny does from beyond the grave when you try to sell his house to a Bee Gee...

Dude!!! My thoughts exactly!!! When D turned the channel over and we saw that, I was totally stopped in my tracks. Not because it was Johnny Cash's house, but because Gibb had bought it and then it birned. I totally snarfed my soda and it took D five minutes to calm me down. Messages from beyond the grave-- going to a funeral indeed.

Oh, pshaw (say it like Stimpy). Putting down the Bee Gees is a cheap shot, and disco bashing is soooo 70s.

They were great before Saturday Night Fever with songs like "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart," and "Lonely Days, Lonely Nights." The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack is *excellent*. Face it: "Jive Talking" and "Staying Alive" are great songs, and the world would be poorer without them. Or "Nights On Broadway." Just think of all the happiness that deep synth bass has wrought.

p.s. The Bee Gees (Municipal Auditorium, Nashville, summer 1972) was the second concert I ever went to, after Credence (Cobo Hall, Detroit, summer 1971, Bo Diddley opened).

p.p.s. Bummer about the Cash home.

It certainly is a shame.

Too bad it takes such a bad event to get ol'Solly back on the blog. {ducking}

You feeling better yet? Or buried deep in your studio? Hopefully both!

Tim, you're right. It's more about THIS.

Ric, I'm feeling much better now. And now that I have a voice again, it's time to assault the ears of the world with more crap from Rasreth Records.

Yay!!!!

There was much rejoicing. :)

The Bee Gees are GODS -- GODS, I tell you!

"The roof...the roof...the roof is on fire!"

(ok, it wasn't a BeeGees song...but the "Ring of Fire" joke's been done to death.)

We had the same conversation here at the Flummel house.

Wouldn't that be interesting if such an act of god happened to all of our homes when we pass on to our great reward? Interesting turn of events!
