Ba-doooom!

People (including me) always seem to remember witnessing history-making sports events whether they really did or not. Well, this is my official proclamation that I was watching when the Red Sox hit 4 HR in a row for the first time in team history…and only the 5th time in Major League history. It was the first time in the AL since just before I turned 2 years old.

(To be fair and accurate, I missed Manny’s and Drew’s. So, technically, I only saw half of the feat. I hope that doesn’t disqualify me from anything.)

Ah, it gets even better, Solly-san.

The last time a team hit 4 homers in a row was last year, when the Dodgers did it. The second guy out of that four? J.D. Drew, who was also the second guy in the Red Sox four-homers last night.

Want more? The last time four homers were hit off one pitcher in one inning was way back in the day, early 1960’s. One of the four hitters that night? Tito Francona, Terry Franconas father.

Neato, in the extreme. And I saw all four. 🙂
