Teams Getting Ready For Opening Day
Balrog rumored to be in Mimes minors
Middle Earth - Several teams made last-minute roster and management changes in a final tune-up before Opening Day games are played.
Mirkwood started off the day by swapping two minor league managers. Mark Colorado, 55, was moved to the Eryn Lasgalen Old Forests of the AA league, while Rory Craney, 54, an 11-year veteran was named skipper of the triple-A Taur e-Ndaedelos Woods. Later, the Marauders replaced their Scouting Director with Joshua Jay and hired legendary Hitting Coach, Paul Wren, for a hefty sum.
The Bywater Bounders fired their Scouting Director and two minor league managers. Looking for more experience in those positions, they hired Elwood Ohler, 54, as the new Director of Scouting. Leonard Roderick, 49, becomes the new double-A manager, and Ronald Crider, 59, signed on to run the class A team.
Rumors of a part balrog player being recruited were given fresh light when "Balrog" Sally showed up at training camp for the double-A team of the Mordor Mimes. Sally, who's appearance is impressive, throws a fastball at unheard of speed. Unfortunately for Mimes fans this season, the Balrog doesn't have the control to make it in the majors, yet.
When presented with concerns for the safety of other players, Mimes owner, Speaker, simply said, "Let 'em see if they can keep out of my fireballer's way!" He continued making rude gestures and accusing the Misty Mountains team owner, Scott Baron, of smelling like a rodent and drinking too much elderberry wine. Baron was not immediately available for comment.
New to the Misty Mountains team is Kyrion Myrthar. Myrthar, 29, will take over at shortstop. According to scouting reports, he is a spectacular fielder with incredible range. Add to that his power numbers, and the Hops have what could be a star player.
