2003 Player Awards Announced
MIDDLE EARTH - The league served up its first batch of individual player awards tonight, as the 2003 season comes to a close.
Frodo Rookie Award
Shire Conference: Ralin "Kid" Rockbinder, CF, of Bree. He batted .287 in 550 AB, with 43 homers and 125 RBI.
Mordor Conference: Pimth Gäldor, LF, of Valinor. He batted .249 in 546 AB, with 36 homers and 99 RBI.
Gandalf Pitcher Award
Shire Conference: Dalo Bloodkiller of Wilderland. He had a record of 20-5 with an ERA of 3.23. In 39 games started, he pitched 273 innings, fanning 231 and walking 136 batters.
Mordor Conference: Elrilmer "Witch King" Elriawyn of Misty Mountain. He had a record of 17-15 with an ERA of 2.97 and 2 shutouts. In 37 games started, he pitched 266.2 innings, fanning 248 and walking 76 batters.
