Stones Move to Rohan, Name New Manager

By Kurmazh the Atrocious

ROHAN - Today, the former owners of the Palantir Stones baseball club announced the sale of the team to an investment group from Rohan. The investment group, chaired by a Rohan noble by the name of Elodin son of Elgerin, heads a group of thouroughbred horse ranchers. Elodin also announced that the team will be sporting a new look and new name. The team will now be called the Rohan Roughriders. Elodin also stated that the new logo will be forthcoming and is timing the release to maximise the marketing profits. Rafur Rockback, dwarf catcher and star of the Stones/Roughriders, had this to say about the move: "I know our old fans will miss us, but I look forward to establishing a new relationship with the good people of Rohan." He then grumbled something under his breath and proceeded off the podium.

Elodin also named the new manager of the team, and to the surprise of the press it was a Halfling from the shire by the name of Fosco Baggins (no relation to the Bag End Bagginses). Baggins was a reknowned amateur ball player who was known for his shortstop skills. However, he never had a chance to play professionally, as he played for years before the SGCBL came into existence. The new manager made the following statement: "I am happy to be here, looking forward to guiding this team to the playoffs. The ownership respects my experience to lead this team to great things, and I intend to do just that." The stocky manager then spit, wiped his mouth, and proceeded off the podium.
