Disaster In Dagorlad

DAGORLAD - Disaster team president Nizrân Amrik has been reported missing and presumed dead. Eyewitness accounts say that he simply vanished.
"Mr. Amrik and I were scouting for players in in the foothills below Ered Lithui," said traveling secretary Naerrus Rušur. "He had told me to head on ahead of him to Cirith-Dur where we were to meet with a local town coach about some prospects. I turned to talk to him, saw heavy clouds above and ran. Before I got two steps, a bright light blinded me. When I turned around, all I saw was scorched earth and his shoes, still smoking."
According to weather reports from the area, a localized burst of activity did occur. Initial reports said a small farmstead about ten miles to the west of Cirith-Dur was devastated. Magical use is suspected, but Dagorlad government haz-magic teams have yet to report any unusual findings. "We’ve had a bit of trouble with a coupla rougue wizards in that area," said Cirith-Dur City Guard, Sergeant Othak Talkunk. "I heard one thought his son had the makings of a big league catcher. I guess he and Mr. Amrik maybe disagreed."
Team Vice President, Zund Nalad, has been named President in the wake of Amrik’s disappearance. "Things will go along as Mr. Amrik had planned," he said. "The team name change shall proceed, as will the strategic manipulations of the baseball strategy plan implemented by Nizran."
The home opener for Dagorlad will now begin with a moment of silence before the traditional feeding of the lowest ranked minor-league player to the Dagorlad mascot, Dizzy the Happy Troll. "Nizran wouldn’t have wanted us to change things just for him," said Nalad.
The team logo has been changed in the wake of this mystery. "The design embodies the new energy the team now feels. The team felt the old new logo would only remind people of the past, and with the disappearance of Nizran, we felt the team and fans would need closure," said marketing vice-president Tumuk Dalag. Marketing reports that team merchandise sales have spiked 5% upward with the new logo. "More fan apparel will be available soon to aid in the healing," said Dalag.
