Fistslammer No Joke, Ties Record

DUNHARROW - Ligor "Joker" Fistslammer tied his own Mordor Conference strikeout record on June 1 by fanning 15 Devils. The last time he accomplished the feat was on July 13, 2003, versus the Mordor Mimes. Only Boriam Celebrin of Old Forest has matched him, striking out 15 in 2003, and setting the League record of 18 this season. Fistslammer leads the league in strikeouts per 9 innings with an amazing 14.6 average.

Unfortunately, he has not seen the run support so far this season to carry him to victory. His record is 3-5 with 5 no-decisions...2 of which he was Player of the Game with 12 strikeouts each! In fact, this record-matching game at Dunharrow was no different. In the bottom of the 8th, with the score tied 2-2, Ligor loaded the bases with 1 out. After making Seathor Radithor his 15th strikeout victim, he was lifted for reliever Tigoja Tadriel. Tadriel promptly gave up a 2-run single to Voruk Spikedragger, giving Dunharrow the victory.
