Wilderland's Imreogorn wins Player of the Week award
MIDDLE EARTH - Iseolf Imreogorn wins his 1st Player of the Week award. Shire Conference pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. Imreogorn helped his team with an average of .462 and 11 RBI in 26 at bats. The Mordor Conference's best player of the week was Misty Mountain's Salir Silverbinder, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. Salir pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .385 with 4 HR and 9 RBI while slugging 1.000. He hit in every game this week and extended his hitting streak to 14 games.
Rohan Defeats Gondor in 17-inning Marathon
ROHAN - It took 17 innings and over 6 hours for the RoughRiders to beat the Condors on June 7. A total of 14 pitchers took the hill in the game, surrendering 24 hits and 11 runs. It was pretty much Rohan pitcher Wonai Trollprodder's game for the first 7 innings. Rohan led 4-0, with Trollprodder only allowing 1 hit, striking out 8. But in the top of the 8th, Salok Koboldchoker gave up a solo homerun to Flora Earol, making it 4-1. In the 9th, closer Hilin Goldarm couldn't close the deal, allowing 4 runs on 3 hits and a walk, giving the Condors a 5-4 lead. In the bottom of the 9th, Rohan third baseman Genus Chiselsnapper scored on a bloop hit to right by Elruden Elraralinde, and the two teams headed off into extra innings tied 5-5. Gondor came closest to pulling ahead in the 16th when Paurk Goblinshaker was thrown out at the plate by Rohan's center fielder, Wilo Toothkicker. Finally, in the bottom of the 17th, with the bases loaded, rookie shortstop Posco Sackville hit a smash that the drawn in infield could not handle, scoring Elraralinde and winning the game, 6-5.
