2004 All-Star Teams Selected
MIDDLE EARTH - League officials announced the players selected to the 2004 All-Star teams today. (*denotes 1st time All-Star)
Shire Conference
Starters
P Tavus Legithraviel from Rivendell (12-3, 2.81)*
Tavus won Pitcher of the Month in June, leads the Conference in ERA and (along with Wilderland's Libur Irontwister) leads the League in Wins.
C Greogrin Goragol from Carrock (.331, 15 HR, 47 RBI)*
"Showtime" has won Player of the Week 3 times already this season.
1B Arweogast Belaraviel from Silvan (.356, 29 HR, 54 RBI)
A 2003 Legolas Fielder Award winner, Belaraviel was named Batter of the Month in June and leads the Conference in homers and slugging pct. He holds the record for homers in a game (4) and is the current leader in career homers (84).
2B Mororon Meriawyn from Rivendell (.357, 11 HR, 49 RBI)*
One of the few players to have hit for the cycle in a game, Mororon did it on July 6, 2003.
3B Iseolf Imreogorn from Wilderland (.396, 18 HR, 68 RBI)
A 2003 Legolas Fielder Award winner, "Nitro" leads the entire League in batting average.
SS Mohair Catsquisher from Mirkwood (.356, 7 HR, 41 RBI)*
A strong candidate for the Frodo Rookie of the Year award.
LF Isilborn Imrilron from Wilderland (.302, 28 HR, 76 RBI)
Last year's Sam Gamgee Batting Award winner, Isilborn leads the Conference in RBI.
CF Ralin Rockbinder from Bree (.274, 25 HR, 67 RBI)
Winner of the 2003 Frodo Rookie Award, "Kid" Rockbinder leads the League in stolen bases.
RF Kogar Facedragger from Bucklebury (.369, 27 HR, 65 RBI)
Batter of the Month in May, "Cap" leads the League in Runs Scored and is the current career leader in that category with 201.

1B Myrtai Elvywyn from Dunharrow (.291, 29 HR, 90 RBI)*
Recently traded to Dunharrow by Bucklebury, Myrtai carries his 90 RBI from the Shire to the Mordor Conference and is the career leader in that category with 201.
2B Arweowyn Belįwen from Grey Havens (.326, 21 HR, 47 RBI)
"The Dream" leads the Conference in Runs Scored with 66.
3B Grukak Dwarfcrawler from Grey Havens (.287, 17 HR, 55 RBI)
Grukak leads the Conference in Walks with 66.
SS Theo Nering from Numenor (.352, 14 HR, 64 RBI)*
"Preciousssss" is a strong candidate for the 2004 Frodo Rookie Award, having won Batter of the Month in May. He is tied for the League lead in Stolen Bases with 34.
LF Higor Elfdrinker from Dead Marshes (.357, 15 RBI, 59 RBI)*
Higor leads the Conference in Batting Average.
CF Thaira Lómebrildur from Mordor (.325, 21 HR, 66 RBI)
"Goldie" was the 2003 Conference leader in homers with 46.
RF Fruron Elvand from Numenor (.299, 16 HR, 42 RBI)
Fruron was a Player of the Week in May.

As with last season, there were teams left without any representation at the game. Old Forest, Moria, Gondor and Dol Guldur fans won't get the chance to cheer for one of their guys coming off the bench. "We know about the problem, and we're taking steps to correct it," was the only statement given by the Commissioner.
Old Forest caught a bad break, as their top candidate was felled by injury just prior to team selection. Tuesday morning quarterbacks were left guessing as to why there was no room for Moria's Foebinder or Elväwen, Gondor's Goblinshaker or Grudgebender, or Dol Guldur's Elrum. It was the second year in a row that neither the Merry Fellows nor the Dragons were represented in the mid-season exhibition.
