Bywater's Slipping Fortunes

BYWATER - Yet another losing week has seen Bywater drop to a .500 record for the year, and unless they improve next week will pick up a losing record for the first time. In truth it was a fairly uneventful week with a lone victory against Old Forest being the only bright spot where we were able to see the Bounders of old.

The Bounders seem to have lost their bounce in recent weeks. Remember it was only a month ago that Bywater were within a game of Wilderland. Now they languish 17 games behind and look to be battling with Silvan for second place.

The team still have one of the best batting records in the league thanks to a steady, conservative strategy, but their pitching record has sunk to new depths. Even Bywater's star players are faltering as the line-up changes weekly in an attempt to get any kind of form from the bullpen. Pitching Coach Shawn Laprade said "If one or two of these so called stars would get their act together we might actually start winning again!" When relayed to Bywater's star pitcher "Treehugger" Dryadpoker he said "It's been great working with Shawn and all of us wish him the best wherever he ends up next year."
