Kings Sweep Hops!

FELLOWSHIP SERIES GAMES 3, 4 AND 5 RESULTS

Numenor Defeats Misty Mountain in 4
NUMENOR - The 2004 Mordor Conference Wild Card team has beaten the 2003 Wild Card with a 4-game sweep. Numenor, up 2-games-to-none after the series opener at Misty Mountain, came home to win games 3 and 4 over a stunned Hops team. In Game 3, the Kings pounced on Misty Mountain's Pimra "Glass Jaw" Gàlas, the Mordor Conference leader in victories and ERA, in the first inning, scoring 5 runs on 2 hits (including a 2-run HR by Fruron Elvand) and chasing the Hops starter after just 2/3 of an inning. The Kings pounded out 12 hits to take the game 9-5. In Game 4, they scored 5 runs in the 1st again! This time off a series of singles and an error by centerfielder Salir Silverbinder. Final score: 9-3. The Kings now await the outcome of the Dagorlad-Rohan series.

Fairies Take 3 From Wargs! Imreogorn Out For Series!
BUCKLEBURY - After losing the first 2 games to the Wargs in Wilderland, the Fairies came back to Buckland needing to regroup. What they came up with was a 3-game home sweep of Wilderland and a 3-2 lead in the series headed back to Wilderland. In Game 3, rookie starter Issth Elilmalad held the Warg bats to just 5 hits and 3 runs in 7 innings, and the bullpen shut the door. Meanwhile, Fairie bats took 25-game winner Libur Irontwister to town, chasing him in the 4th after scoring 6 runs and going on to a 8-3 victory. Game 4 was a 10-inning battle, finally won by Bucklebury when Gandaugrin Gamaiborn knocked in Halulob Gwaugol with the winning run. Game 5 saw Bucklebury pound the Wargs 12-3, but the most significant moment came in the bottom of the 7th when Warg third baseman and hitting star, Iseolf Imreogorn, had to come out of the game after throwing out shortstop Kobur Hammermaker on a routine grounder. After examination, Imreogorn--who led the league in hitting for most of the season--was found to have ruptured his bicep tendon and will be unable to play for the rest of the postseason.

Rohan-Dagorlad Slugfest Continues
DAGORLAD - With their series tied at a game apiece, the Disaster and RoughRiders moved to Dagorlad where the hits kept coming. In Game 3, Rohan won, 9-4, with the teams combining for 23 hits. Game 4 saw Dagorlad strike back with 17 hits for a 10-4 victory. Finally, in Game 5 the Disaster took the advantage in the series by winning the only pitcher's duel--a 10-inning nail-biter between strikeout kings Legeron Iseomer and Ligor Fistslammer, 2-1. Iseomer struck out 12 in the losing cause.

Bree takes 2-of-3 in Rivendell
RIVENDELL - Bree won 2 games on the road to take their series back home with a 3-games-to-2 lead. After a Game 3 pitcher's duel that saw the Cheese lose to the Royals, 2-1, the Bree bats woke up, taking the next 2 games handily, 11-5 and 7-4.
