Kings Make Second Series Sweep!
Numenor defeats Dagorlad to take Mordor Conference Championship
DAGORLAD - Remaining undefeated in the playoffs, the Numenor Kings took 2 more games from the Disaster in Dagorlad to complete their 4-game sweep in the Two Towers Series. In Game Three, the Kings pounded out 17 hits off 7 different pitchers to win 9-4. Elrealob Elrauhil had 4 hits and Fruron Elvand collected 4 RBI in the victory. Game Four saw Numenor down 4-2 in the 8th inning when they exploded for 6 runs, including a 2-run double by Gruugor Earchewer. Numenor now awaits the Shire Conference Champion in the Return of the King Series.
Cheese win 2, stay alive in series
BUCKLEBURY - After losing the first 2 games at home, the Bree Cheese went into Buckland needing to come out with a pair of wins. In Game Three, they beat up the Fairies, 12-1, behind the brilliant pitching of Gogak Drowslammer and 5 homeruns from Bree sluggers. In Game Four, the Cheese were behind 5-4 in the 8th when pinch hitter Sesin "Mythril Man" Silvermasher launched a 3-run homer to make the score 7-5, tying the series at 2 games apiece. Finally, in Game Five, the Fairies came back with some solid pitching and the 5th playoff homer from Lugnar Orcback, a 3-run shot in the 2nd. Final score: 9-3. Bucklebury leads the series 3-2 as it heads back to Bree.
