Bears and Marauders Make Deal

CARROCK - Finding themselves in the same division with Bree and Bucklebury, the Bears have it tougher than most. Going into the free agent bidding wars, Carrock was looking for some hitting to go with its excellent pitching staff. Today, in a deal with Mirkwood, they got a hitter by trading Pagor Goblinpoker to the Marauders for first baseman Hafur Goblincrusher. And in a bid for the future, they got Musin Oresmith as well. Goblincrusher was Mirkwood's main power hitter in 2004, batting .250 with 32 HR and 104 RBI. He won a Legolas Fielder award in 2003 with Palantir, signing with the Marauders in 2004 for 6-years at $10 million annually. Oresmith has spent the last 2 seasons in Mirkwood's farm system.
