Old Forest Wheels and Deals

OLD FOREST - After 2 seasons, Tom Bombadil seems to be getting the hang of the art of the deal. The Merry Fellows have already made one of the biggest free agent deals this year, signing pitcher Tavus Legithraviel (18-11, 3.67) to a 4-year, $48 million deal. Now the trading is in full swing. In separate deals, Old Forest has traded pitchers Gollaind Fioriand and Peter Vedder to Minas Morgul for second baseman Ollla Eowebrilas and outfielder Haleogrin Grolas and catcher Bernie Sanchez (plus $6 million in cash) to Dol Guldur for catcher Juan Almeida.
The Old Forest-Minas Morgul trade gets the Merry Fellows a quality player with speed, who can play any infield position. Eowebrilas is 4th in career stolen bases. The Slayers pick up 2 young pitchers. Fioriand has bounced around between the majors and minors and from the bullpen to the starting role and back again. Vedder is a 20-year-old starter with tons of talent.
The Dol Guldur deal was purely to get rid of Grolas' salary, which would have been $11 million over the next 3 seasons. By trading him with enough cash for Dol Guldur to pay over half the salary, Old Forest gets rid of the salary, increasing the amount under the cap, and the Dragons only have to pay less than half of his salary out of their own pockets.
