Gondolin's Rumak Knifehammer out for the season
GONDOLIN - Reliever Rumak Knifehammer, a mainstay of the bullpen last year for Silvan (now Gondolin), has been sidelined by a serious elbow injury. In a game against Lake Town on April 8, he was pitching in relief in the top of the 8th when he got Silas Debuuger to fly out to center. After that pitch, a loud pop could be heard throughout the stadium, and Knifehammer fell to the ground in pain. Examination later showed him to have torn a ligament in his pitching elbow. This will definitely require surgery, and Rumak will be out for the rest of the year. Signed as a free agent by Silvan on March 1, 2005, to a 3-year deal worth $2.25 million per year, Knifehammer went 6-3 with a 3.69 ERA in 76 games.
