Legindil Announces Retirement

Dunharrow

DUNHARROW - After a short, but brilliant, career in the SGCBL, Tavoja Legindil is calling it quits. The elf known as "Legend" around the league delivered the news to his new boss at Dunharrow shortly after being traded there from Bree. Legindil, 38 (in human terms), has done it all in 3 years. The 2nd round choice by the Mordor Mimes in the original startup draft of 2003, he led the Mordor Conference in average, on-base percentage, slugging and RBI, and was 2nd in homeruns, earning him the first Sam Gamgee Batter Award. He was selected to the Mordor All-Star Team twice and had two 3-homer games. In 2005, Legindil was traded from Mordor (now Minas Morgul) to Bree, and he took his heavy bat to the Shire Conference. On July 26, he had a 25-game hitting streak snapped. This season, his last, he will play back in the Mordor Conference again with Dunharrow. While he would not qualify for the Hall of Fame under normal circumstances, he will be the first of several players who started in the League in their late 30's that may be under special consideration for that honor.
