Disaster Trade Top Prospect

DAGORLAD - In a move sure to be second-guessed by many Disaster fans, Dagorlad moved up-and-coming prospect Tobias Devries along with Vaor Thrarith. "We hate to lose a prospect like Devries," said new assistant GM Arghus Silvernose, "but with Leguden only 25-years old, Toby wasn't going to get the playing time he deserved. He was a good kid and didn't complain, but we knew it was killing him to sit down there in AAA. It's kinda the same with Thrarith, too. Alus is proving to be one of the better players in this league. They both had some strong market value and we know our pitching staff is aging. We have to have the next set ready to step in when their time comes."

Thrarith was especially happy to move along. "I liked the people I played with, but they kept jerking me around. First I was up in the bigs enjoying Elven toast and Butterbeer at the post game buffet and then I'm back in the minors riding an Olephant to and from games. I'm pretty happy to get a shot with the Hops."

Devries had little to say other than he was happy the organization was giving him the chance to go to a team where he could play everyday. "I'll miss the little things around here, though. You know, the whole chaos of Dizzy eating opposing fans who get out of line. I could never get enough of that. But, I'm sure the Hops have their own way of having fun, too."

As for the new Disaster players, Silvernose said they'd probably all start out in Harad. "We'll have to make some room for them, but that's part of the game. Besides, it's in Dizze's contract that he gets a player a month. It's about that time again anyway."

Other Dagorldad news: Dagorlad, in an attempt to move ahead of Isengard, also redoecorated the outfield fences. "We removed the carnivorous lilies and the brick walls and replaced them with iron grating. Cold metal to help fight that curse that got leveled on us earlier," said Aogk Mortpol head groundskeeper. "Hopefully no fans will impale themselves on top of the foul pikes. But if they do, ain't much we're gonna do to stop 'em either. I mean, this is a family place."
