Shire Stomps Mordor in All-Star Game
MIDDLE EARTH - The Shire Conference evened the All-Star score at 2 games apiece by trouncing their rival squad from Mordor, 11-2.
Mordor threatened in the 1st, loading the bases against Shire starter, Ban Arwodur of Bree. But a diving catch of a liner off the bat of Thudor Nadrierion of Isengard by Lake Town first baseman, Arweogast Belaraviel, got Arwodur out of the jam. After a 24 minute rain delay in the 2nd inning, Legeron Iseomer of Rohan took over the mound from Mordor starter, teammate Dejira Celaldor. Iseomer walked Mirkwood's Gobur Foetooth, and Lake Town catcher, Thuralia Nilad, followed with a double. Elrond Hubbard of Old Forest then lifted a sac fly to right, scoring Foetooth to draw first blood. A walk to Bree's Belebrindil was followed by a pinch-hit 2-run double by Bucklebury's Minto Foxburr, making it 3-0. Holir Goldrender of Gondor took over for Iseomer and immediately gave up an RBI single to Lake Town's Silas Debuugger.
In the 3rd inning, Numenor's Dolok Bonemangler walked the leadoff hitter, Isilborn Imrilron of Wilderland, who took 3rd on a single by Belaraviel. He scored on a double by Foetooth to make it 5-0. Then, with 2 outs, Belebrindil lined a 2-run single, scoring Belaraviel and Foetooth, making it 7-0 Shire.
In the 5th with 2 out and Minas Morgul knuckleballer Maeglin Elensar pitching, Foetooth got an infield single, followed by a hit for Nilad. Hubbard sent a liner to deep left-center for a 2-run double, making it 9-0.
Loopy Squishmasher of Rivendell led off the bottom of the 6th against Rohan's Libur Irontearer with a 409-foot homer, putting the score at 10-0 Shire. Then, later that inning, the Shire scored its final run when Debuugger scored on an Imrilron hit.
The Mordor team couldn't put anything on the board until the 8th inning when Ciurk Badgerpoker of Rohan sent a deep shot to center for a 2-run homer.
The final score was 11-2. The winner was Arwodur. The loser was Iseomer. Silas Debuugger was named Player of the Game.
