Minas Morgul's Elrilmer, DiSantolin of Gondolin win Player of the Week award
MIDDLE EARTH - Gondolin's shortstop Alrond DiSantolin had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the Shire Conference Player of the Week. He hit .444 with 10 RBI and slugged .852 in 27 at bats. It's the 1st time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Minas Morgul's centerfielder Eoden Elrilmer. Eoden went 11 for 20 (.550), while hitting 1 HR and collecting 6 RBI. His season numbers are: .288 AVG, 111 hits, 19 doubles, 5 triples and 9 bombs, along with 49 RBI and 40 runs scored.
Moria has no chance in a 2-hitter by Huli Goldtooth
BREE - Huli Goldtooth had his best stuff going, and Moria hitters had nothing to cheer about. Bree's right-hander pitched a 2-hitter, his 2nd shutout of the season on August 2. 'Well, the ball went where I wanted it. I was able to hit the corners with all of my pitches.' Goldtooth (10-8) fanned 3 and walked 1, throwing 92 pitches. Arwildoc Belebrindil helped Goldtooth at the plate, he finished 3 for 4, homering once, and collecting 6 RBI. Bree improved its record to 65-40, scoring 9 runs on 11 hits.
