Rohan Cleans House

ROHAN - The Rohan ownership, after having fought back an incursion of wild men along their borders in the first half of the season, returned to find their team, the RoughRiders, in first place. However, their minor leauge system was in shambles! Many aging veterans who had long since past their prime, as well as younger, weedier players no doubt seeking to avoid the conflict on the borderlands, had cluttered the rosters of the Rohirrim farm system.
Ownership today made a statement that they would be releasing no less than 28 players immediately. This is probably the most drastic front office activity witnessed in league history. When contacted about this, part owner and horselord Eomir Elowyn commented, "We felt that with so many players who weren't showing any improvement in our system, they were choking the potential of those players that may possibly factor into the future of the RoughRiders franchise, and something needed to be done."
Many of the players given their walking papers were leftovers from the Palantir team that the Rohan Ranchers Association bought out at the beginning of the 2004 season. Several of the players still held major league contracts, and despite the cost, Rohan Management opted to eat these contracts in the interest of better organization in their minors system.
