Bucklebury Report

Bucklebury
By Peroido Baggins

BUCKLEBURY - There was much joy and dancing in the Fairie Dome tonight as Bucklebury Manager xade announced the latest arrival to the club. "Today's, the firsts of the free agent days, and we's signed Pimth Gäldor. He will be's a more than welcome addition to the squad. I ain't seen a hitter like him since... well since 'The Cap' Ha ha ha ha ha. That guy, he cracks me's up."

A very jubilant manager with definite reason, Pimth has been selected to the all star game three years in a row now. He won the Legolas Fielder Award in 2004 and the Frodo Rookie Award the year before. Now having signed with the Fairies for the next five year, Pimth looks set to go down in Fairie history.

"Initially, I had reserves about playing for a club like the fairies, they're are a young team and might look to me for leadership, I hope not. Plus, they had a .414 winning average last year. But then the Bucklebury finance division drove a oliphant drawn carriage full of money up to my house and I couldn't say no. So now I'm a fairie and I couldn't be happier."

But not everyone is happy with this news , and not just the other five managers trying for him, upon hearing the news of the signing, Eond Elruborn was heard to say the following

"duh... He plays rightfield... I play rightfield... uuhhh... ummmm... but... how can we both play rightfield?... Lugnar? Do you know?... if he's playing rightfield, how will I play... oh wait..." And then proceeded to put his mace through three lockers before being security 'Calmed him down'.

A Bucklebury PR rep released this statement.

"I would just like to state that the rumours that Eond 'flipped out' are completely bogus. He didn't not smash up a locker room and he is not currently tied to a bed, obviously Eond wasn't happy with hearing the news. He has been playing at Bucklebury his entire career, but these things happen. Bucklebury management is currently doing the best they can to find him a place on a winning team (or whatever team gives the best offer)."

So, there you have it. Obviously, Bucklebury is extremely happy to add this hitting superstar to their current mix of youth. I for one have to say that I have never seen a batter with a better eye for the ball.
