Commissioner Holds Press Conference

MIDDLE EARTH - At a press conference held at SGCBL headquarters, Commissioner Rasreth tried to address the rumor and speculation surrounding the recent string of murders by someone the media has dubbed the "Brie Killer." Appearing calm and matter-of-fact, the Commissioner read from a prepared statement before answering reporters' questions.

"In light of the events of the past weeks, the League would like to thank our fans for their continued support. Without the fans, there would be no baseball. We want to assure you that the teams of the SGCBL are taking every precaution to create a safe, fun atmosphere in all 24 major league parks, as well as in the various minor league stadiums around Middle Earth. We are cooperating with law enforcement officials in their ongoing investigation into the tragic deaths, and we are confident that they will find those responsible and bring them to justice."

The Commissioner spent the next 20 minutes giving vague answers to an array of questions, mostly centered on the murders and the hunt for the killer or killers. Responding to a reporter from the Lake Town Gazette, he denied rumors that a prime suspect was to be found in the Mirkwood minor leagues. He also refuted reports that an informant (or "horn blower") was to be found in the Miners organization.
