An Interview with Christof Worm

by Dia Elrubo
BUCKLEBURY - This reporter sat down to have a chat with one of the newest Fairies, starting pitcher Christof "Royal" Worm. Worm, 26, was picked up in the Rule 5 draft this spring, and immediately stepped into the starting rotation for Bucklebury. My short interview with the self-confident (and obtuse) hurler was cut short by Mr. Worm's PR people and is presented in its entirety.
R: So, Christof, you were picked up by Bucklebury in the Rule 5 Draft from Gondor.
C: Well, yes, that is true, but only because the Gondor line-up was most excellent.
R: Ah yes, and how do you feel about playing for the Fairies?
C: I do have to say that I am most impressed with both the infrastructure and the players. Especially the bullpen, I believe they are most severely underrated.
R: And the starters?
C: There is a reason Bucklebury needed me.
R: I see... well, there has been a huge turn around at Bucklebury this season, you went from a pack of mediocire hitters to excellent. You're fan base has already gone up 5 points. What do you think has happen with the team to bring about this change.
C: Isn't that obvious? Why it's me.
R: You? But Bucklebury's pitching is down from last year. And you've been throwing 5.77.
C: Um... Quite. But there are other factors involved. Like our Rookies. And the free agency, we have 12 players on our list that weren't there last year.
R: 12? I'm glad I wasn't there when Xade was swinging that ax. Speaking of Xade, have you heard from him since his departure?
C: Well yes, I mean... Quite.
R: Excuse me?
C: Quite.
R: o.k... I'll take that as a maybe... OK, just one last question, Why the nickname?
C: Well I believe that should be obvious. For generations my family has been at the top of the A list. We have been wined and dined by royally. We quite literally have pomp running through our veins.
R: But, I haven't heard of any socialites nor royally by the name of Worm.
C: Quite.
R: I see. Well, thank you for your time, this has been Dia Elruborn reporting.
