Glebrildur (CAR) and Ettinripper (MIN) win P.O.W. award
MIDDLE EARTH - The Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Siloja Glebrildur, Carrock's starting leftfielder. Siloja was on fire, hitting .577 with 3 HR and 6 RBI. Glebrildur has hit 10 homeruns this year while batting .371. He adds 9 doubles, along with 25 runs scored. He's 3rd in the Shire Conference in batting! It's the 1st time that the Mordor Conference Player of the Week award goes to Minas Morgul's rightfielder Kadish Ettinripper. He hit .577 with 6 RBI and slugged .769 in 26 at bats. Ettinripper has walked 3 times this year and posts a .407 OBP. While batting .385, 45 for 117, he has driven in 15 runs. He's 2nd in the Mordor Conference in batting!
Rohan has no chance in a 2-hitter by Legan Isauhir
ROHAN - Legan Isauhir had his best stuff going on May 6, and Rohan hitters were chanceless. Dead Marshes' right-hander fired a 2-hitter, his 2nd shutout of the season. Isauhir (2-2) fanned 5 and walked 6, throwing 114 pitches. 'Things like that happen. You take the mound and everything works. My velocity was pretty good today and I guess it showed.' Dead Marshes' second baseman Mauhur *the Looter finished 3 for 5, blasting a homerun, scoring three runs and driving in 2 runs. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Isauhir. Dead Marshes improved its record to 19-13, scoring 10 runs on 14 hits.
Lake Town's Nilad out for 7 weeks
LAKE TOWN - Lake Town's catcher Thuralia Nilad will miss about 7 weeks after being knocked unconscious in a collision at home plate, in the 6th inning of the game between Lake Town and Mirkwood on May 2. He was helped off the field after the incident. Nilad will miss at least 7 weeks. After x-rays were taken the diagnosis did not surprise many: Broken Cheekbone. Surgery will be performed next week. This year Nilad drove in 11 and scored 17 runs while batting .289 with 4 homeruns.
