Spikekiller and Bloodaxe win Player of the Week award
MIDDLE EARTH - Vral Spikekiller of Bywater wins his 1st Player of the Week award for dominating Shire Conference's hitters the entire week. Spikekiller was overpowering all week long, going 2-0 with an ERA of 1.93. Along the way he struck out 7 in 14 innings. He hurled a shutout as well. Vral has a record of 5-8 this season, with an ERA of 5.74. In 69 Innings he was able to strike out 32 batters. Vral has pitched one shutout and one complete game. Bagwurz Bloodaxe from Misty Mountain wins his 1st Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the Mordor Conference. Bagwurz went 9 for 17 (.529), while hitting 3 HR and collecting 6 RBI. While compiling an on base percentage of .333, Bagwurz hit .277 and slugged .511. He has collected 31 runs batted in this year.
Arwodur and Foerender receive Pitcher of the Month award
MIDDLE EARTH - It's the 2nd time that the Shire Conference Pitcher of the Month award goes to Bree's pitcher Ban Arwodur. He struck out 35 hitters in his 5 starts, putting together a record of 4-0 while pitching 35 innings. His ERA in May was 1.11. Ban got two complete game shutouts as well! Opposing players hit .208 against Ban this season. While posting an ERA of 2.15 he went 6-2 in 11 starts, fanning 72 and walking 12 hitters. Ban has pitched 2 shutouts and 4 complete games. The best month of May in the Mordor Conference certainly had Grey Havens' right-hander Glosil Foerender, earning him the Pitcher of the Month award. He had an ERA of just 1.33 in 40.2 innings of work in which he struck out 39 hitters. His record in May is 4-1. Glosil pitched a shutout as well. This season Foerender compiled an ERA of 3.41, going 5-3 in 12 starts. He fanned 67 while giving up 66 hits in 71.1 innings. He has one complete game and one shutout.
Batter of the Month award winners announced
MIDDLE EARTH - The Shire Conference's best player of the month was Lake Town's Denamir Eärindel, who wins the award for the 2nd time in his career. Denamir was on fire, hitting .438 with 7 homeruns and 29 RBI. Eärindel has walked 35 times this year and posts a .463 OBP. While batting .361, 65 for 180, he has driven in 47 runs. He's 7th in the Shire Conference in batting and 6th in RBI! It's the 2nd time that the Mordor Conference Batter of the Month award goes to Rohan's catcher Rafur Rockback. He hit .355 with 24 RBI and slugged .710 in 93 at bats. His season numbers are: .318 AVG, 57 hits, 13 doubles, 5 triples and 11 bombs, along with 41 RBI and 26 runs scored.
