Cheese, Griffons trade center fielders
GONDOLIN - News from Gondolin that Arigol Anora is being sent to Bree in a one-for-one swap with the Cheese. Anora, 36, may be in the twilight of an excellent career, but he can still hit, run and field among the better players in the game and should fill the void left by the injuries to Lomebrildur and Rockbinder. He is currently hitting .303 and has 22 stolen bases versus 8 caught stealing, and he has been flawless in center field. The 4th pick of the Lake Town Archers, Anora's career year came in 2004 when he was selected to the Shire Conference All-Star squad and won the Legolas Award for center field. That season, he became one of the few players to hit for the cycle and get 5 hits in a game. He was signed as a free agent by Gondolin earlier this year and still has another season on his 2-year contract.
Coming over to the Griffons will be "Elroy" Elriamli, a slick-fielding youngster. Elriamli, 24, is a defensive specialist, playing all outfield positions brilliantly and seeing a bit of action at 1B, as well. This year, he's even played a couple of innings at shortstop! Not much of a threat at the plate, he should still find his way into the Gondolin line-up with no problems.
