Player of the Week honors go to Imrilron and Bloodaxe
MIDDLE EARTH - The Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Isilborn Imrilron, Old Forest's starting leftfielder. Isilborn pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .455 with 4 HR and 8 RBI while slugging 1.091. This year Imrilron drove in 81 and scored 66 runs while batting .342 with 35 bombs. He's 6th in the Shire Conference in batting, 1st in homeruns and 1st in RBI! The Player of the Week award in the Mordor Conference goes to Misty Mountain's Bagwurz Bloodaxe this time, as the catcher displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. Bagwurz pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .647 with 2 HR and 6 RBI while slugging 1.059. Bloodaxe has walked 24 times this year and posts a .371 OBP. While batting .327, 98 for 300, he has driven in 53 runs. He's 7th in the Mordor Conference in batting!
Isilborn Imrilron pounds three dingers
WILDERLAND - Isilborn Imrilron can hit'em a long way, and Wilderland pitchers couldn't smile about that on July 16. Old Forest's leftfielder unloaded three bombs, adding to his reputation of being one of the best power hitters in the game. His 1st shot, a two-run homerun off Dante Peņa in the 1st inning, cleared the fence in left-center. His 2nd shot, off Pervinca Tunnelly in the 7th inning, was a three-run homerun and cleared the fence in right-center. A pitch from Thaimir Siand in the 9th inning left his bat for a solo homerun, landing 390 feet from home plate in right field. Overall he got 4 hits in 6 AB, scoring three times and driving in 6 runs. His homerun total this year is 35, along with 81 RBI. Old Forest improved its record to 51-40, scoring 19 runs on 17 hits.
Bywater's Spinner severely injured
BYWATER - When it rains, it pours. Bywater's ace Bugrin Spinner will not pitch for at least 7 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Minas Tirith on July 11 where he left the field in the 3rd inning. After being taken to a local hospital, Spinner was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Bone Chips Elbow. Opposing players hit .280 against Bugrin this season. While posting an ERA of 4.56 he went 6-10 in 20 starts, fanning 96 and walking 55 hitters.
