Player of the Week honors go to Arwodur and Trollraper
MIDDLE EARTH - The Shire Conference Player of the Week award goes to Ban Arwodur, one of Bree's best starting pitchers. Arwodur was overpowering all week long, going 2-0 with an ERA of 0.00. Along the way he struck out 18 in 18 innings. He pitched two shutouts! His ERA of 2.44 helped him to a 17-6 record this year. He struck out 163 and walked 36 in 202.2 innings. Ban has pitched 5 shutouts and 11 complete games. He's 1st in the Shire Conference in ERA and 1st in wins! The Player of the Week award in the Mordor Conference goes to Numenor's Wong Trollraper this time, as the third baseman displayed the best offensive perfomance in his league. He had an on base percentage of .636 and hit .619, while driving in 9 runs. While compiling an on base percentage of .405, Wong hit .367 and slugged .503. He has collected 72 runs batted in this year. He's 1st in the Mordor Conference in batting!
Rocco Dwarftosser shuts out Rivendell on one hit
GONDOLIN - With his best stuff going, Gondolin's Rocco Dwarftosser overmatched the opposing hitters all day long on August 18. Rivendell had no chance, collecting just one hit against the lefty. 'Wow, what a nice day. I guess I had a good breakfast today.' Dwarftosser (6-10) struck out 5 and walked 2, throwing 61 of 100 pitches for strikes. The hitting star for Gondolin was centerfielder Denar Axecutter, he finished 4 for 5, doubling once, scoring two runs. Gondolin improved its record to 48-71, scoring 9 runs on 12 hits.
