Foxburr to Minas Morgul in Big Trade
BUCKLEBURY - Minto Foxburr, the hot young third baseman for the Fairies, has been dealt to the Minas Morgul Slayers for a pair of pitchers. It is the second time the 22-year-old has been traded in his short career. The 1st pick of the Cheese in 2004, he was part of a big, multi-player deal in 2006 that sent him to Bucklebury from Bree. Foxburr hit .332 for the Fairies last season, with 18 HR and 121 RBI. He is already a 2-time All-Star.
Minas Morgul sends starting pitcher, Tonai Nosethrottler, and reliever, Tigan Trollhead to the Fairies. Nosethrottler, 30, has bounced around a bit since being drafted by Dol Guldur in 2003. He pitched for the Dragons, then signed a minor league deal with the Slayers in 2006, was traded to Lake Town mid-season, then picked up again by Minas Morgul at the start of 2007. He has been used as both a starter and a reliever, and while his record is unimpressive (24-34 with a 4.20 ERA) he has shown signs of becoming a solid starter.
Trollhead, 24, is a promising left-handed reliever, who hasn't quite developed the stuff to compete in the majors, yet. However, all signs indicate that he will eventually become a fine pitcher. He was signed as a minor league free agent by Misty Mountain in 2003, but was hurt for most of that season and the Hops released him in 2005. Dead Marshes picked him up for the '05 season, where he spent most of his time at the single-A Langflood Lightning. Minas Morgul got him in a trade with the Uruk-hai in 2007.
