Elrum, Merry Fellows Reach Agreement

OLD FOREST - After heavy negotiations, the Merry Fellows have come to terms with All-Star closer, Faraborn "Cougar" Elrum. At $30 million over 2 years, the deal will make him the highest paid relief pitcher in the league. Elrum, 29, was threatening to take his services to the open market at the end of 2008, but team manager, Kigush Eyeslobberer, convinced team owners that the superstar was a key part of the team's pitching staff. Indeed, Elrum has won the Gwaihir Reliever award for the last 2 seasons, posting 78 saves and a 1.83 ERA during that time. For his career, he is 40-26 with 177 saves (6th all-time) and a 2.60 ERA.
