Frodo Rookie Award winners announced

MIDDLE EARTH - The Shire Conference Frodo Rookie Award winner was announced today, with Carrock's pitcher Sillla Glebrilad earning the trophy for putting up the best numbers among rookies in his league. This season Glebrilad compiled an ERA of 3.52, going 19-12 in 38 starts. She fanned 145 while giving up 281 hits in 263.2 innings. Sillla has pitched 4 shutouts and 7 complete games. She's 4th in the Shire Conference in wins!

The 2008 Mordor Conference Frodo Rookie Award winner is from Isengard this season. Maltame Rethiel put together impressive numbers for a rookie en route to win the first major award of his career. Let's hope more will follow for this 24 year old ballplayer. Maltame is hitting .318 this year, with 157 hits in 493 at bats. He has driven in 94 runs, slugging .485. He's 8th in the Mordor Conference in batting!
