Mirkwood's Valin Graniteslinger unloads three times

RIVENDELL - Hitting homeruns is one of the most difficult things in sports. To hit three of them in one game is almost sensational. Mirkwood's designated hitter Valin Graniteslinger accomplished that feat in a 17-3 win over Rivendell on May 12. In the 1st inning he unloaded a solo homerun off Rascal the Terror. A 387 foot drive to right field marked his 2nd bomb, a solo homerun off Thuroja Nünd in the 3rd inning. A pitch from Thuroja Nünd in the 4th inning left his bat for a solo homerun, landing 408 feet from home plate in left-center. Overall he got 4 hits in 6 AB, doubling once, scoring three times and driving in 3 runs. So far this season he is batting .245 with 13 homers and 30 RBI. Mirkwood scored 17 runs on 22 hits.
