Rohan, Minas Morgul make minor swap
ROHAN - The RoughRiders sent three minor leaguers to the Slayers in exchange for Minas Morgul's first two picks in the 2010 draft. Pitcher Garadorn Evermind, first baseman Neil Friesen and outfielder Wilo "Flametrhower" Toothkicker were traded from the AAA Pleasant Vale Stallions to Minas Morgul. Evermind, 24, has kicked around the Rohan minors since 2003, getting a couple of September call-ups to the big leagues the last two seasons. He is currently 5-5 with a 5.21 ERA with the Stallions. Friesen, 25, was a power-hitter with the single-A Prarie Hill Ponies for 5 years before moving up the ranks last season. He is hitting .242 with 8 HR and 27 RBI for Pleasant Vale. Finally, Toothkicker, 31, is a veteran who's fallen on tough times. He was the 9th pick for Palantir (Rohan) in 2003 and was the starting center fielder for a couple of years. He was sent down to AAA half-way through 2008. He is hitting .253 with 28 HR and 64 RBI with the Stallions.
