Fairies and Devils make big trade

BUCKLEBURY - Fearing that the season and their Wild Card chances might be slipping away, the Bucklebury Fairies made a deal with the Devils that sends pitcher Fabur "The Apostle" Beardcutter back to Dunharrow in exchange for first baseman Razrhot the Smasher. Beardcutter was the big prize in the free agent wars of 2008, signing a $23 million deal with the Fairies. His big salary now heads to Dunharrow where he got his start.

Beardcutter, 29, was the original Devil, picked 1st in 2003 by Dunharrow, where he pitched brilliantly for 5 seasons. The 2-time All-Star has never won more than 15 games in a season, but his career WHIP (walks and hits per innings pitched) is 0.96, second only to 3-time Gandalf winner, Prilak Hammershaker of Numenor. He is a strikeout artist, fanning 200+ each year, while only walking an average of 40. He is 3rd on the career leader board with 1465 K's. He already has 100 this season.

Razrhot the Smasher, 29, came up through the Dunharrow farm system where he made it his business to live up to his name, smashing over 70 HR in 2 seasons with the AA Aglarond Ice. In just 4+ seasons, he has already hit 139 HR and amassed nearly 500 RBI. While his batting average this season is lower than normal at .258, he has already smacked 15 HR and driven in 54, putting him among the top 10 in the Mordor Conference in each category.
