Mordor All-Stars Win in 11th!

ISENGARD - In front of a packed house of 45,000 at Isengard's Orthanc Stadium, the Mordor Conference continued its winning ways against the Shire, taking their third straight mid-season classic in dramatic fashion, as Rohan's Posco Sackville slammed a walk-off 3-run homer in the 11th for the 5-2 victory. That makes it 5-games-to-2 in favor of the Mordor Conference.

As with last season, pitching dominated most of the game. The Shire put a run on the board in the 3rd when Gorgoroth's Arwildoc Belebrindil scored on a 1-out fielder's choice by Rivendell's Loopy Squishmasher. They made it 2-0 in the 5th when Bywater's Vorzava Tinond trotted home on a sac fly by Belebrindil.

In the bottom of the 5th, Mordor knotted the score at 2-2 when pinch hitter, Teun Mulder of Rohan, doubled home teammate Posco Sackville and Minas Morgul's Tina Legàl.

That was how it stayed until the bottom of the 11th. With 2 outs, Mordor pitcher Silzava Gliondir of Weathertop, surprised everyone by hitting a double to the gap in right-center. After Dead Marshes' Fruron Elvand walked, Sackville took a pitch deep into the right field stands for a game winning 3-run homer!

The winning pitcher was Gliondir. The loser was Moria's Bagdreg the Hated. Sackville was named Player of the Game. In the 7th inning, the Shire manager was ejected for arguing a play at 2nd base.
