Slayers excited by Beardcutter acquisition

MINAS MORGUL - "I am beyond overjoyed to have him on our roster." K.L. commented. Beardcutter gives the Slayers a potent 1-2 combination at the top of the rotation. If Eartrembler can keep going and if Seladriel keeps improving, the Slayers could have a tough pitching staff to go with one of the top offenses in the league.

"I think this will help us a bunch. Yes, he's dang expensive, but the talent we gave up is all from the pitching side - a side we have quite a bit of talent to work with - and should help Dunharrow. But we've been looking for the help we need to improve now and get deeper in the playoffs - or even to them at all." K.L. said.

The pitching staff has been a large disappointment all season for the Slayers. It has improved in recent weeks, though, and K.L. is looking to build that momentum by adding another ace. While the money in the form of payroll might hurt currently, the Slayers will have some relief soon. Lumtina's 11 million will be gone soon and disappointing Belil-Gariand will probably be gone soon too. Earalad was traded also for salary relief to help stay under the cap.

"It's a gamble, but we needed to improve our pitching. We still have Arborna, Earora, Steelshaper, Ladygrass, Evermind, among others on our pitching side for youth. It's time to make a move to help the current staff, and I think this will get the job done. As for Friesen, we have offense now, and most are young, we don't need bats and felt we could afford to move him." K.L. spoke.

The Slayers certainly showed their fans they are ready to compete again this year. A team that looked to be ready to make a difficult transition-while-competing tactic, the Slayers made a move to really boost their weakest componant.
