Old Forest is Shire Champ!

OLD FOREST - The wild card Merry Fellows became the Shire Conference champions for the first time when they defeated the Mirkwood Marauders in 7 games. In Game 1, Old Forest's original player, Rognash Kidneyslammer, laced a single to left, scoring Eolf Elrithor in the 11th inning for the win. Mirkwood returned the late-inning heroics with a pinch, 2-run homer by Thurlla "The Arm" Norà and a solo game-winner by Idril "Wind Goddess" Calafalas in the 9th. Floror "Andojar" Eärilmarion dominated the Marauders in Game 3, winning it 7-0. Game 4 was a pitchers duel between Frodo Chubb and Gwelf Goriborn that the Old Forest hurler came out on top, 2-1. In Game 5, the Merry Fellows' bats came alive, as they pounded Mirkwood, 12-4. The Marauders held on to win Game 6, 6-5. Then, in Game 7, another Chubb-Goriborn battle produced the same results, an Old Forest victory and a new Shire Conference champion!
