Moria GM Pleasant sacked

BALIN'S TOMB -- Dirk Pleasant, General Manager of the Moria Miners, has been asked to step down for undisclosed reasons.

"Dirk Pleasant will no longer manage the Moria Miners," a spokesperson said at an impromptu press conference. Pleasant, who has run the Miners since the 2007 season, is reported to have finally and completely, "cracked." Though contacted, Pleasant was unavailable for comment.

Sources are reluctant to comment on what exactly led to Dirk's demise, though team members have seen it coming. "We knew it was bad when he started telling us to run the bases backwards," said Moria's 'Pretty Boy', Shatai Githrarith. "After that, we knew it was only a matter of time."

Moria has yet to find a replacement for Dirk's position, and with the 2010 season looming ahead, time is running out. Queen Brandelion was contacted for comment on the issue, but declined in her own way by hurling several blunt objects at this reporter's head.

"It is best to leave Queen Bran alone, at present," commented Camellia "Darling" Baggins. "We're not sure what's going on, but whatever has happened, she's not happy about it -- in fact, anyone asking should probably run home right now, bolt the doors, draw the curtains, and make a protective circle of salt around their loved ones!"
