Two Players Added to Hall of Fame

MIDDLE EARTH - Arweogast Belaraviel and Arweowyn Beláwen were announced as this year's inductees into the SGCBL Hall of Fame. Both players received 79% of the votes cast in this, their first appearance on the ballot.

Belaraviel retired as one of the greatest sluggers in the game, having hit 254 homers (7th best all-time) and 713 RBI (12th). He also finished with 1,113 hits (16th), 623 walks (12th) and scored 707 runs (8th). His career batting average was .297. During his short career with the SGCBL, he won 2 Legolas Fielder awards at first base and was named to 5 All-Star teams.

Beláwen, nicknamed "The Dream", was the heart and soul of the Grey Havens Stars for 7 seasons. She also finished with 1,113 hits. She had 190 HR, 245 doubles, 514 walks, and scored 720 runs, finishing with a .300 average. She was the 1st pick for the Stars in 2003 and was selected to 4 All-Star teams. She won 3 Legolas Fielder awards at second base.

Three players had 50% of the vote totals, but no others came close to the 75% minimum required for election to the Hall.

Starbasher, Anylith, Eärindel, Elfbelly, Moraden, and Anüwen did not receive enough votes to remain on the ballot for next season.
