Bounders take Shire Wild Card

BYWATER - With their 9-1 victory over Wilderland on September 26, the Bywater Bounders clinched the Shire Wild Card spot and their first trip to the playoffs since 2003. Surprising everyone, save for the Bywater fans, Bugrin Spinner (21-7) nailed down the win and perhaps the Gandalf Award. Just 2 seasons ago, Spinner was among the league's leaders in losses, going 8-21 with a 5.92 ERA! This season, in addition to his 21 wins, he notched 197 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.76 (4th best in the Conference).
