2010 Aragorn MVP

MIDDLE EARTH - The winners of the 2010 Aragorn Most Valuable Player awards for the Shire and Mordor Conferences have been determined by ballot of the owners. In the Shire, the hands-down favorite was Mirkwood's Curt Ballscarer. "The Bat" lived up to his nickname, shattering the league batting record by hitting .403. He led the league in on-base percentage (.446) and was 5th in slugging (.546). His 231 hits broke the Shire record, held by Scarlett Mawaan (218), and Theo Nering's league record of 220, set in 2004. Other players who received 1st place votes were Amon Thoirney and Bugrinn Spinner of Bywater, Rivendell's Loopy Squishmasher, and Torg Shinsnapper of Bucklebury.

The Mordor Conference MVP race was a little closer, as teammates from Minas Morgul split the vote. Isilborn Imrilron received just one more 1st place vote than his fellow Slayer, Minto Foxburr. Imrilron wins the award for the 4th time in his career, after being named Shire MVP in 2003 and 2006 and Mordor MVP in 2008. "Cheese Crusher" was the only player to hit 50 HR this past season, as he led the league in slugging (.612) and the Mordor Conference in RBI (124). He was named the Mordor winner of the Sam Gamgee Batter award, as well. Other players receiving 1st place votes were the Slayers' Fabur Beardcutter and Anson Banks and Isszava Eliondel of Grey Havens.
