Goramir traded to Merry Fellows

MINAS TIRITH - His offensive production having slowed, Minas Tirith decided not to wait around for the original Titan to retire before getting something for him. They traded the 33-year-old future Hall-of-Famer to Old Forest in exchange for 27-year-old third baseman, Gamaithor "Air" Elylith.

Goramir was the 1st pick of the Cirith Ungol Spiders in the initial league draft in 2003. He immediately went on to dominate hitting that year, starting with a record-setting 11-RBI game just 7 days into the new league's inaugural season. He hit .336 that year with 42 HR and 119 RBI. Goramir has been on 5 All-Star teams and has won the Legolas Fielder award at second twice. But he only hit .184 last season, striking out 167 times. Prior to that, he had never struck out more than 92 times in a single season.

Elylith was Old Forest's 5th pick in 2003, and he has been the Merry Fellows' third baseman for many years. He has never hit for a high average, and his career mark is only .202, but he excels in getting on base, especially via the walk. And when he does hit the ball, he hits it with power.

Also in the deal is Old Forest agreed to trade its 2nd round draft pick next season, and Minas Tirith gives the Merry Fellows $30 million to cover Goramir's high salary.
