Rohan-Dol Guldur Trade
ROHAN - The RoughRiders looked to improve their pitching staff with the acquisition of Drogo "Smokey" Loamsdown in a trade with the Dragons. Dol Guldur agreed to send Loamsdown to Rohan in exchange for infielder Olli "Bolli" Pimmelgrim. Loamsdown, 25, was the 1st pick for Old Forest in 2004 and came to Dol Guldur in a major trade with the Merry Fellows that included Faraborn Elrum and Gamilas Eowil-Galad. Loamsdown has struggled trying to find a role as either a starter or a reliever. He has not found success in either capacity, yet, despite his promise. Last season was a prime example. In May, he pitched a no-hitter against Numenor, but he finished the season with 21 losses.
Pimmelgrim, 26, was Gondolin's 1st round pick in 2006. He has been utilized mainly for his fielding skills. He has a gun for an arm and can play second, third and short. While his career batting average is only .219, he makes up for it with his walks and homeruns. He is currently sporting a .348 OBP and .489 Slugging Pct.
