Hops post 2012 lineups
t was with great pleasure and anticipation that Misty Mountain Hops manager, The Witch King of Angmar, announced the lineup for the 2012 club.
While much of the team has remained intact from the previous season, there are several new faces on the squad which will hopefully propel the team to the top of the always-hotly contested Orc Division in the Mordor Conference.
First off, the bullpen remains roughly the same, with the exception of the inclusion of Fradrak "Thats Frodrak" Demongobbler, acquired in a trade with Bree. This career hurler from the Cheese was looking for a new home, and the Hops felt he made a great addition to the squad. His numbers haven't always been revealing, but there's a gem underneath that the Hops feel can be polished in the bitter battles of the Orc Division.
Also newly acquired from Bree is utility infielder Chukky Cheesegrater, who the Hops are hoping will fill the gap that has long existed in the infield.
The biggest news, though, was the promotion to full-time status of twenty year old Arghren Glimmerhand to the club. A catcher with a huge future i front of him, he will be backing up the extremely reliable Bagwurz "Bad Ass" Bloodaxe and learning the ropes of how to play at a major league level. Shedding his childhood name of Fili Kendrick, this dwarf is sure to make a huge splash with the fans of the team!
This move left the Hops with a conundrum, in that Novathiel "Novacaine" Novathien also plays catcher. In experiments last season, "Novacaine" worked well in the outfield, where he will be moving full-time this year. It is hoped that his bat will re-ignite this season(along with all the others who slumped last season), bringing a long-sought trophy to Caradhras.
Opening Day is fast approaching, and we look forward to hearing the cry of "Play Ball!" at the Gap of Rohan Park at Caradhras.
