Shinsnapper Returns to Bree
BUCKLEBURY - Fairie ace, Torg Shinsnapper, is returning to the Bree organization for the first time since being traded as an injury-plagued AA reliever in 2005. Bucklebury dealt the 30-year-old right-hander to the Cheese for 17-year-old Foiron Gororon, who was Bree's 2nd round pick this spring, and their 1st round draft picks in 2013 and 2014.
"Shinzo" started out with Mirkwood but was involved early-on in a multi-team swap that sent him briefly to Isengard before landing with the Cheese. Within a week of the deal, he tore a ligament in his elbow and was out for the season. He came back in 2004, seeing limited action within the Cheese farm system before being sidelined by another season-ending injury in April 2005. The Slayers took a chance on Shinsnapper and picked him up from Bree, but they, too, decided that the talented young pitcher was going nowhere and traded him to Bucklebury in 2006. The Fairies finally got him healthy, and he went on to win 21 games in 2008 and made the Shire All-Star team. In his career so far, Shinsnapper is 81-58 with a 3.30 ERA and 945 K's.
