Old Forest trades with Devils
OLD FOREST - The Merry Fellows continued their mid-season dealings with a trade that would send Gandilgol Eowül, Thoma Thugast, Mororon Meriawyn and Nark Silverbinder to Dunharrow in exchange for Fosco Bramble, Kegan Ogrehammer and $5 million.
Eowül, known as "The Silent Bull", is a 34-year-old reliever who has spent time with both Old Forest and Rivendell. He has been a steady worker, appearing in 592 games over 9+ seasons, compiling a 41-38 record with 60 saves and a 4.28 ERA. "Thug Life" Thugast, 29, was Bywater's 1st choice in the 2004 draft. He is a brilliant corner man with a cannon for an arm. His hitting has not always lived up to his potential, however. His career numbers are .248 with 38 HR and 228 RBI. Meriawyn, 36, is winding down his career after spending most of it anchoring Rivendell's 2B position, winning the Legolas and going to the All-Star Game in 2004. Silverbinder, 23, is a hot young talent, Old Forest's 1st pick last year, currently playing for the AAA West Shire Wolverines.
Bramble, 28, was an All-Star last season, but has been kicked around the Mordor Conference since being picked 1st by Isengard in 2004. He is a great infielder, but with the exception of 2011, he has not lived up to his potential, either. His career numbers are .243 with 97 HR and 361 RBI. Ogrehammer, 24, is a AAA 1B/LF with the White Mountain Wizards. He is currently hitting .304.
