Mirkwood's Goriborn severely injured

MIRKWOOD - Mirkwood's pitcher Gwelf Goriborn was part of a scary incident that saw the right-hander being hit by a line drive in the 3rd inning of the game between Mirkwood and Weathertop on July 8. Team trainers immediately rushed onto the field after the frightening scene. Goriborn will miss about 5 weeks. After being taken to a local hospital, Goriborn was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Broken Hand. In 17 starts this year Gwelf struck out 99 batters in 122.1 innings of work. His ERA is 3.83, his record 9-4. He's 6th in the Shire Conference in wins!
