Wargs Get New Owner

WILDERLAND - At a news conference today, league officials announced the transfer of title of the Wilderland franchise to a new owner. Ever since the mysterious disappearance of former Wargs owner, Thagrham Pitmaker, the son of mining mogul Hroms Pitmaker, the future of the team has been in doubt. Pitmaker's emerald mines were shuttered soon after Thagrham purchased the team from Whiny the Elder last season, and neither he nor Hroms has been heard from since. Speculation rages over their whereabouts, and some sources believe they are in hiding from a crime syndicate over massive debts owed to loan sharks.

Despite the uncertainty, the Wargs continued to play and to entertain loyal fans. They finished this season at 80-82, the best record they have had since 2009. They were even in the division race as late as August. So, to ensure the continued viability of the team, Commissioner Rasreth ordered its assets transferred to Boof the Wise, a wizard of some reknown and a baseball fanatic. Boof is ready to take on the challenge of reorganizing the team and to keep it active and competitive.
